A friend took me out on a touring kayak a few months ago and I've been dying to get one ever since. I broke down and ordered one a few weeks ago (from Colorado, we don't have any good boating stores here). Here are some pics from my first outing.
We went to a local wildlife refuge and saw a huge variety of birds. This is a flock of white pelicans. I had no idea pelicans lived in my area.'
The kayak is big enough to cram in enough camping gear for a week. I'm looking forward to exploring some of the rivers and waterways around here!

Once you've conquered all the rivers down there, Jennifer- you'll have to bring that baby up to central West Virginia and check out the New River Gorge.
